TV's As we have recently lost our analogue TV signal, we have now installed flat screen TV's in all the bedrooms. They have built in freeview allowing guests to access 100 channels. For those guests who have struggled in the past to get BBC 2 without a shadow on the screen, this is good news indeed!
Duvets. In addition, we recently polled departing guests and most of you would prefer duvets on the beds. So, yes, we are happy to be dragged kicking and screaming into the 1980's (never mind the noughties & beyond) and each bed now has a top of the range "duchess" duvet. Spare blankets are of course still available in each wardrobe , only to be used when the temperature drops below -20 deg C!
(useless fact - the arctic fox can sleep on open snow at -50 deg C!!)
Mattresses. You won't need a screwdriver next time you visit us! Let me explain. A departing guest recently explained to us that they had returned for a second visit on hearing the news that we had recently installed the Hypnos mattresses (top of the range etc....) The chap in question was delighted with the change explaining that his wife was the world's fussiest sleeper (in terms of mattress comfort) and on their original visit, the mattress was found by her to be too soft resulting in him removing the bathroom door and placing it under her side of the mattress to make it firmer! Don't worry, he said, I always travel with a screwdriver (just in case) and we left everything neat and tidy on departure!!
New Menu. We have recently added a "Pub Classics" menu which will run lunchtime and evening sessions. In particular, this menu sources most of the ingredients locally. Have a look at the "locally sourced produce" in the restaurant section.
